Medical Billing Specialist – Accounts Receivable
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Medical Billing Specialist will maintain and process the daily activities and transactions of the Accounting Department related to Accounts Receivable, with a focus on the comprehensive medical billing and collection activity of all affiliates under PRS. This is a full-time hourly position that reports to the Reimbursement Supervisor. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides support to facilities for claims, questions, and problems related to the AR billing
  • Reviews and submits Medicare/Medicaid claims and vendor invoices and forwards all EOBs to facilities for payment posting
  • Facilitates monthly calls for AR review
  • Sends out a summary of all 90-day balances to the management team
  • Responsible for understanding all resident contracts as they relate to billing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have previous experience in a Medical Billing environment
  • Previous experience in Collections, preferably in a medical environment
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and the ability to operate a ten-key calculator
  • Prior experience with daily phone interaction with customers and vendors
  • The ability to stay up to date with the new insurance and Medicare guidelines
